In Moonlight, assuming your connection can handle it (I'm on gigabit wired) change the target resolution to 1080p 60FPS and the target video bitrate to 100 Mbps. This is necessary because once we rename rxinput.dll, the native GameStream client will be unable to properly decode game audio.

Install Moonlight from the Google Play Store. NOTE: According to the VirtualHere developer, the "Use by default" checkbox does not work due to an Android bug, so you'll have to hit OK any time you plug in the Steam controller. VirtualHere should display a message asking if you want to allow it to access the USB device. Plug in the Steam Controller's receiver and power on the device.

Repeat this process until all USB devices are ignored, then click Close. Press Add, then Select, and then select a USB device.

Hit Cancel for any prompts that VirtualHere shows. BEFORE connecting the Shield Controller, plug in any other USB devices you plan on using locally on the Shield, such as a Flirc IR receiver or a wireless keyboard and mouse.Install VirtualHere USB Server through the Google Play Store.Update : Updated list of files that need renamed, and commented that VirtualHere is almost a necessity if you plan on using GameStream with a mouse and keyboard. This means you can keep using the official GameStream client. Update : The instructions have been updated to include a registry fix that forces stereo sound. Likewise, you'll be unable to use the Shield Controller for streaming PC games after you disable rxinput.dll. Note that once everything is set up, the Steam Controller won't be available for use in Android, so you'll need to use the Shield's controller or some other device (keyboard, remote, etc) to navigate the console and launch Steam. After two nights of troubleshooting, I think I have everything the way I like it. I've seen some promising posts around the Nvidia forums and on Reddit for using a Steam Controller, but the information was inconsistent and still led me to have some issues.
